Boat Earns Career-Best Finish of Fifth at All American Speedway
October 24th, 2011
ROSEVILLE, Calif. (October 15, 2011) – The No. 98 Curb Records Chevrolet driver Chad Boat nabbed a career-best finish of fifth in the NASCAR K & N Pro Series West Toyota/NAPA Auto Parts 150 at All American Speedway.
The No. 98 Curb Records car proved to be fast on the .333-mile, high-banked oval after posting consistent lap times in the top 10 during the practice sessions on Friday. Boat, who just completed his first full season in the NASCAR K & N Pro Series East in September, went out for qualifications and put together a lap good enough to earn him a 10th-place starting position for his third appearance in the NASCAR K & N Pro Series West.
The green flag flew for the 150-lap race and Boat maintained a strong run in the top-10 until another car made contact with the No. 98, causing the 19-year-old to spin and drop to 20th. Boat charged his way back to the front of the field, gaining 15 positions before taking the checkered flag in fifth place and scoring the first top-five finish for the Curb Records team.
“The Curb Records team gave me a fast car”, Boat said after the race. “I knew we had the speed all weekend to finish up front, so I’m glad we were able to see that through. With this top-five result, we’ll head to Phoenix, my hometown, with some momentum and that’s a great feeling.”
Up next for Boat and the Curb Records team is the Casino Arizona 125 at Phoenix International Raceway on November 12, 2011.
