Speed & Consistency Highlight 2009

August 22nd, 2009

“To finish first, first you must finish” is a lesson that Chad Boat has learned well so far in 2009. The sophomore USAC sprint and midget driver from Phoenix, Arizona has been the picture of consistency over the summer months, which have led to 4 victories, 5 fast time qualifying runs, 17 top five finishes and 30 top ten finishes in 47 races so far in 2009.

“It seems like once I got my first win of the year at Kokomo in June, things have really clicked,” Chad said as he prepared for the upcoming USAC sprint race at Lawrenceburg Speedway. “When we roll through the pit gate, I know we are one of the cars to beat.”

Although not running all the races and not running for a point championship, Chad is currently 8th in USAC sprint car points and 8th in USAC midget points. In eight of the last nine USAC sprint races, Chad has one victory and seven top four finishers, contending for the win at each event.

With three months left in the season, Chad is looking to build on his momentum and finish the year strong. “We want to focus on the big races here at the end of the year, and hopefully we can get a few more wins.”
